California Governor Signs PBM Oversight Bill That Drew National Attention

California Governor Edmund Brown (D) signed a bill requiring that pharmacy benefit managers disclose rebates and other pricing information, despite strong opposition from the national pharmacy benefit manager and health insurance lobbies and the California Department of Finance. California is the latest of nearly two dozen states that have enacted laws to regulate the drug pricing middlemen, which have found themselves in the cross hairs of the national drug-pricing debate.
