Ron’s Pharmacy Services and Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition Welcome Congressman Scott Peters
San Diego, CA – Ron’s Pharmacy Services, a leading member of the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC), today welcomed Congressman Scott Peters for a pharmacy tour and discussion about the value long-term care (LTC) pharmacies deliver to vulnerable seniors in the community and across the nation.
“San Diego seniors with complex medical conditions require more specialized care than other patients. Ron’s Pharmacy ensures these vulnerable seniors get the proper medication and dose, as well as consultation services, which help individualize treatment and produce better outcomes,” said Congressman Peters. “They are an important partner in our work to make health care more affordable and accessible as the number of Americans seeking long-term care increases. Thank you to the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition for their support of long-term care facilities and their patients.”
“It’s an honor to host Congressman Peters and demonstrate the care and pride we have in our work here at Ron’s Pharmacy,” said owner Ron Belville. Ron’s Pharmacy has been providing dispensing, delivery, evaluation and consultation services to the San Diego area since 1981.
LTC pharmacies exclusively serve patients in retirement communities, assisted living facilities and nursing facilities, where the typical patient takes an average of 11-13 different medications a day. With a growing, dynamic healthcare marketplace rightly placing a premium on quality care, positive outcomes, reduced hospital readmissions and more efficient use of taxpayer dollars, independent LTC pharmacies provide an essential ‘value-added’ component for this distinct group of patients.
“We are grateful to Congressman Peters for joining us today, and are certain he better understands the unique value proposition long-term care pharmacies offer,” concluded Alan Rosenbloom, President and CEO of the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition. “Long-term care pharmacies are an essential part of the solution for assuring that America’s seniors and others with special needs receive the prescription drugs they need at a price they can afford.”
