A Durham, NC-based pharmacy automation technology company is partnering with the association that represents long-term care pharmacists, lending it heft to further its advocacy agenda.

Parata announced last week that it’s becoming a Bronze Level Business Partnership with the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition, which represents some 350 LTC pharmacies across the U.S. The company says it’s doing so because it wants to reinvest profits toward addressing the concerns of its customers, who first introduced this idea.

“We have an obligation to stay informed about issues in LTC and help any way we can. Our research proved this to be an easy decision to make. It’s a win for all involved,” Mark Longley, Parata’s executive vice president of sales and business development, said in a company announcement.

As part of the Bronze partnership, Parata says it also will take part in the coalition’s annual meeting and Business Partners Summit in July.
