Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition Releases Statement in Support of Rep. Buddy Carter’s New Bipartisan PBM Reform Package
The Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC), the leading voice for the nation’s long-term care (LTC) pharmacy community, released the following statement in support of Congressman Buddy Carter’s (R-GA) new bipartisan PBM reform package, the PBM Reform Act. This important bill would finally protect patients and pharmacies from the harmful and anticompetitive business practices of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
“The Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC) and long-term care pharmacies across the country commend Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) and other Congressional supporters for continuing to keep the pressure on PBMs with the introduction of The PBM Reform Act of 2025. The need for meaningful PBM reform has long been established and has strong bipartisan support in Congress. As a tireless PBM reform advocate and a pharmacist who has experienced PBM abuse firsthand, Rep. Carter understands the kind of legislation that is needed to protect LTC patients and pharmacies in America.
“We especially commend Cong. Carter for including provisions that would clearly give CMS the authority to ensure reasonable and relevant contract terms for more transparent drug pricing. LTC pharmacies have long pleaded for Congress to pass meaningful PBM reform to protect the unique services that we provide to millions of patients.” said Alan Rosenbloom, President and CEO of SCPC.
