Alan Rosenbloom Departing Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC); Esmé Grewal Selected as New President & CEO
WASHINGTON, DC: Alan Rosenbloom, founding President and Chief Executive Officer of the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC), departed the organization on April 10, 2026, to return to his private consulting business. The organization is proud to announce that it has selected industry veteran Esmé Grewal to serve as its new President and CEO.
“It has been an honor to serve a growing segment of the LTC pharmacy community since SCPC’s inception in 2014,” Rosenbloom said. “After nearly 12 years in my current role – and more than 25 years leading long-term care provider groups in Washington – I have decided to step aside from leading organizations to return to my advisory services company, Maor Healthcare Advisory, deepen my engagement in African charitable activities, and pursue part-time living in Europe with my wife Kristine Blackwood.”
During Rosenbloom’s tenure, SCPC worked to stabilize Medicare Part D payments for generic drugs, assure fair dispensing fees for short-cycle brand name drugs, and negotiate important concessions from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services facilitating LTC pharmacies’ ability to better cope with the COVID pandemic.
In his almost twelve years leading SCPC, the organization has grown from nine LTC pharmacy companies operating thirty-two locations to more than seventy LTC pharmacy companies operating over 350 locations across the country, serving nearly one million people every day. Rosenbloom also built a cadre of more than twenty-five business partners – including the largest vendors serving the LTC pharmacy sector.
“We are grateful to Alan for building a strong, policy-oriented organization that has placed the business of LTC pharmacies front and center on the political and policy map in Washington,” said Jill Krueger, President & CEO of Symbria and SCPC Board Chair. “Alan has led SCPC to focus on the nexus of LTC pharmacy operations, market dynamics, and public policy. By addressing issues like drug pricing and Medicare payment practices, he has helped establish a more stable financial foundation for the sector and the vulnerable patients it serves.”
Esmé Grewal, an LTC pharmacy sector veteran and Vice President of Government Relations at BrightSpring Health Services, will become SCPC’s President and CEO effective April 20, 2026.
“We are pleased to welcome Esmé Grewal as the next President and CEO of SCPC,” said Krueger. “Esmé brings a deep understanding of the LTC pharmacy landscape, along with the strategic vision and leadership needed to guide SCPC into its next chapter. Her ability to navigate complex policy challenges and build strong partnerships will be critical as the organization continues to elevate the role of LTC pharmacies and drive meaningful impact across the sector.
Grewal is an attorney and longtime government relations leader. She has spent over 15 years in Washington, DC leading policy at the association and provider level, most recently as head of federal affairs for BrightSpring Health Services and its LTC pharmacy, PharMerica. Before joining the BrightSpring team in 2019, Grewal led multiple government relations teams across provider and patient-focused national associations. In addition to her published body of work in the long-term care sector, Grewal has led policy development and significant issue campaigns through her collaborative work with industry, coalitions, Congress, federal agencies, and the White House.
Importantly, Grewal has two adult siblings with significant disabilities who have driven her patient and quality focus and her deep appreciation for the value of long-term care pharmacy services.
Rosenbloom lauded Grewal’s selection to lead SCPC moving forward. “I cannot think of a better successor than Esmé Grewal to lead SCPC into an even brighter future that benefits LTC pharmacies and the patients they serve,” he added. “She has been an excellent partner in her prior role and will be a great leader for the organization going forward.”
“I am honored to step into the role of President and CEO of SCPC at such a pivotal time for the long-term care pharmacy sector,” said Grewal. “SCPC has built a strong reputation as the leading voice on the policy and operational issues impacting LTC pharmacy, and I look forward to building on that foundation. My focus will be advancing practical, forward-looking solutions that support our member pharmacies, adapt to a changing healthcare landscape, and ensure the continued delivery of high-quality long-term care pharmacy services to the patients who rely on us. I am grateful for Alan’s long-time leadership and partnership throughout this transition. We are working closely to ensure a seamless handoff while positioning SCPC for continued growth and success.”
SCPC is the leading national voice for the long-term care pharmacy sector representing the interests of its more than 300 member pharmacies in Washington, D.C.
