SCPC Submits Second Round of Comments to Healthcare Advisory Committee

DATE: August 19, 2026

The Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition submitted comments yesterday to the Healthcare Advisory Committee (HAC).  The HAC is a group of experts charged with delivering strategic recommendations directly to the HHS Secretary and CMS Administrator to improve how care is financed and delivered across Medicare, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Health Insurance Marketplace, consistent with the Executive Order Establishing the President’s Make America Healthy Again Commission (E.O. No. 14212).

In its comments, SCPC shared the history of long-term care pharmacy, the requirements LTC pharmacies must fulfill for beneficiaries every day, and the policy obstacles that have created industry challenges. The association requests that HHS host a convening to better understand and evaluate solutions to sustain long-term care pharmacies as the aging sector steadily increases.
