SCPC Submits Comment Letter to Members of New Health Advisory Committee (HAC)

DATE: May 14, 2026

The Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC), the leading voice for the nation’s long-term care (LTC) pharmacy community, submitted a letter to newly appointed members of the Health Advisory Committee (HAC) outlining opportunities to strengthen medication management and improve care for medically complex seniors and individuals living in long-term care (LTC) settings.

“LTC pharmacy is too often overlooked in broader healthcare policy discussions, despite the essential role it plays in caring for some of the healthcare system’s highest-risk and highest-cost patient populations. LTC pharmacies have developed evidence-based medication management systems specifically designed to improve adherence, reduce medication-related complications and support better health outcomes for vulnerable patients living in LTC settings.

SCPC believes there is significant opportunity to improve patient outcomes, enhance quality of care, and reduce unnecessary healthcare spending through policies that better recognize and support comprehensive medication management. We would welcome the opportunity to work with the Committee, share our members’ expertise and outcomes data, and identify policy solutions that can deliver meaningful impact for patients and the healthcare system alike,” said Esmé Grewal, President/CEO of SCPC.
